Police are currently at the scene of an aggravated robbery that occurred at a business overnight.

At 1.30am police were called to a Bank SA branch on Sturt Road after reports a man armed with a knife confronted and threatened a cleaner as he was leaving the building.

The offender then allegedly entered the bank and left shortly after taking a small bag containing documents.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Police searched the area with the assistance of a police dog but were unable to locate anyone.

Sturt CIB and crime scene will be attending the bank this morning to continue the investigation.
